Sensorize is officially sponsoring the 11th international Symposium for Biomechanics and medicine in Swimming to be held in Oslo (Norway) from June 16 until June 19.

All the international swimming scientific community will be gathering at the campus of the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences for 4 full days of lectures, poster sessions, oral sessions, some social events, the swimming researchers relay event and technical exhibitions!

The upcoming conference held by Italy Athletics (FIDAL) is officially sponsored by Sensorize and is going to be held on March 26-28 at Ancona (Italy).

After the successful experience of 2008, FIDAL is holding its biannual conference focusing on the technical aspects of this sport. Have you ever asked yourself what makes a good coach? These are the words that introduce the article published in the leading Italian technology magazine Wired which illustrates Sensorize technologies and their importance for sports professionals.

Yet again, Sensorize corresponds to science applied to sports.
The Sensorize team participated in the press conference “Artificial Turf: solution for new football fields” organized by the Italian Football Federation FIGC aiming at presenting the newest generations of reinforced turf to be employed on the Italian football fields soon. The leading figures of Italian football (Abete, Beretta, Ulivieri, Albertini) illustrated clearly the worsening conditions of stadium grounds and as a consequence the quality of Italian football. Improving and maintaining excellence of quality of the fields will lead not only to a more secure ground on which players can practice their sport but will enhance the spectacle surrounding every game.

Professor Mauro Testa, one of the leading figures in sports biomechanics and mastermind behind Lotto latest Twist’n Go football shoes, illustrated clearly to the audience how new generation grounds not only decrease injury among players but increases significantly their performance and quality of play. Through Sensorize own invention and innovation FreeSense, the measurement device based on the use of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and GPS, Testa has been able to measure the movements of players directly on the field and combine such data with high-frequency video to have a complete picture of the play: “we are closely working with innovative companies which provide us with technologies so that we are able to perform significant steps forward in this field” states Testa.

CONI Foggia, one of the provicial bodies of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), particularly through its technical staff, is investing heavily in innovation not only to measure the effects of training, but also to study and evaluate the processes that determine the "outcome" for competition, focusing especially on the ways of achieving efficiency, versatility and quality. The committee is keen on improving its athletes performance by seeking with painstaking care excellence in athletics and promoting the "talent" by applying patterns, diagnosis, and educational interventions.

Dr. Giuseppe Macchiaroli (president of CONI Foggia) and Prof. Antonio Mazzilli (Technical Coordinator) have shared this philosophy fully aware that they can rely on their unique technical staff composed of established professionals including prof. Nicola Mancini and Davide Di Stefano, both academics of Sports Science.

The esteemed Laboratory for Functional Assessment operating at CONI Foggia relies on the Sensorize technologies to achieve these challenging goals through tools of great scientific value.

“FreeJump and FreeSense will expand widely the quality of sports performance evaluation services that CONI Foggia offers to Sports Clubs and Youth Centers in the area” states Prof. Mazzilli. “Our goal is to seek and identify predictive models capable of being projected over the long term, from the early developmental age groups to the age of mature athletic expression.”

Valutare in modo metodologico le prestazioni degli allievi di alto livello in un vero e proprio “laboratorio da campo”: con queste parole il prof. Nicola Silvaggi (foto), ex Direttore Tecnico della Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera (FIDAL) e attuale caposettore dei lanci descrive l’obiettivo alla base dell’importante progetto che vedrà presto impegnata la FIDAL. Progetto in cui Sensorize sarà uno dei protagonisti. La FIDAL, infatti, si avvarrà di FreeJump e FreeSense per la misurazione della performance degli sportivi.

Il felice connubio tra la FIDAL e Sensorize non fa che confermare le capacità degli strumenti nati in casa Sensorize: accuratezza della misura, ripetibilità dei dati, facilità di utilizzo sul campo. Parametri imprescindibili per lo sviluppo del progetto della FIDAL: creare un vero e proprio “laboratorio da campo”, “per rendere più efficace l’allenamento”, con l’obiettivo finale di “fare ricerca, per poi rendere i dati fruibili a tutti”.

Sensorize, nella figura di Mounir Zok (Direttore Tecnico) è intervenuta nell’ambito del Corso Base della Juventus University lo scorso 28 novembre presso lo Juventus Center di Vinovo.

La giornata formativa che ha visto l’intervento di Sensorize era dedicata alla valutazione della performance sportiva in campo, aspetto su cui Sensorize ha sviluppato un know-how innovativo e competitivo, implementato in FreeJump, primo prodotto a marchio Sensorize nato proprio per la misurazione delle prestazioni in ambito sportivo.

It could not have gone any better for Sensorize during the 10th SIAMOC conference (Italian Society of Clinical Movement Analysis) held between October 1 and 3 in beautiful Sardinia in Italy.
